Joy of Life Show

Cuban-American artist Benito Esquenazi’s  The Joy of Life solo exhibition surveys a sub-set of works the artist created during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The exhibition opened during Art-Week Miami
on November 30, 2021, and ran through February 8, 2022 at the Miami Beach-JCC / Schwartz-Jacobs gallery.

The exhibited paintings and drawings explore the transformative effect the pandemic had on Esquenazi’s psyche over the past 2 years.

 

"We all experienced collective anxiety, isolation, and social unrest during the pandemic, but we also subsequently felt the power of unity and community as a result. I believe we all now deeply seek the feeling of collective aspirational joy in our post-pandemic life. This Joy of Life exhibit seeks to capture this emotional arc."
