Symbolist Landscapes
The Symbolist Landscape series resulted from a dream I had of four shapes floating in space in front of me.
The shapes symbolize "water," "the figure,""time," and "Mont St. Victoire" (the mountain Cezanne painted consistently in his landscapes).
The vivid and expressive paintings in this series incorporate these four elements.
Since the source of these images were derived from my dream-world, I lean into the experience of my sub-conscious mind, intuitive knowledge and early childhood memories as I explore the bounds of this theme in my art-making practice.
